the region – trentino alto adige

Nestled in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige, Madonna di Campiglio is a destination rich in culture, history and natural beauty. While Italy is known for its deep historical roots, the country itself was only unified in 1861, explaining the distinct dialects, food and traditions found in each region.

Trentino-Alto Adige has an even more recent history as it only became part of Italy in 1919, previously it has been part of Austria. With its Second Statute of Autonomy in 1972, the region has since maintained a balance of independence, blending both Germanic and Italian influences. The result is a captivating mix of cultures, where Alpine traditions meet Mediterranean charm.
